The government of Santa Fe reported that there were 12 homicides in January, a 73% decrease at the provincial level compared to 2022 and 2023. Eight crimes were registered in the city of Rosario and two in the capital, according to the Secretary of Analysis and Management of the local Ministry of Justice and Security, Esteban Santantino, who stated: "It is the lowest value". In this sense, the official emphasized that "if we look at recent history, we have a 73% decrease at the provincial level and 72% in Rosario". Additionally, the reduction in homicides "was accompanied by a decrease in injuries from firearms", while he added: "In 15 of the 19 departments, no cases of intentional homicides occurred during January of this year".
